Still Life Food Photographer …
As a still life food photographer, I love working with brands that focus on high-quality ingredients and great taste. Recently, I had the opportunity to shoot another collection of low-carb sourdough products for Robert Andrew, a brand known for its delicious bread, croissants, and rolls. Shooting once again with advertising agency Parker Design. This time, the shoot took place in my home studio, using Bowens XMT 500 studio lighting to ensure precise control over highlights, shadows, and textures.
Showcasing Texture and Freshness
Food photography is all about capturing the details that make a product look as good as it tastes. With Robert Andrew’s sourdough, that meant highlighting the crisp, golden crusts, the soft and airy interiors, and the flaky layers of the croissants. Using studio lighting allowed me to create depth and dimension while ensuring a clean and natural look without harsh reflections.
A Fresh Approach to Styling
For this shoot, there was a slight change in the creative team—Kate, the usual food stylist, was unavailable, so Madeline stepped in. She did a fantastic job ensuring everything looked fresh and well-balanced. The croissants, served with raspberry jam, and the sandwiches, layered with ham, cheese, and tomatoes, added color and contrast to the scene, making the final images visually appealing.
Bringing Food Photography to Life
Robert Andrew’s low-carb sourdough range is designed for those who want great-tasting bread with fewer carbs, and my goal was to reflect that in the images. By using the right lighting, composition, and styling, I aimed to create photos that are both eye-catching and true to the product’s natural appeal.
