Advertising Fashion Photography Forties Style

Advertising Fashion Photography

Once again it was time for the Elegance range fashion shoot for Boardman’s Design in Manchester. Now the title Advertising Fashion Photography Forties Style will give away the theme. Forties and where to shoot it to give it that feel? Well with a lot of time spent on google I came up with a Hangar in Blackpool that took you back in time to where else but war time forties.

The team and I arrived at the location early. One for me to set up and two for make up and hair to be done. The location was great with spitfire replicas and various army vehicles. The only problem was we were not allowed outside as it was an active airfield. This meant lighting and good use of space was required. I used pro foto heads with soft boxes to create the look and with careful positioning of tripod and model, the images were exactly what I wanted to achieve.

Looking back at the photoshoot it couldn’t have gone better and the theme was perfect for the various hats and fascinators from the elegance range. Only problem now is how do we better next year. I’ve every confidence I can at least equal it , I have a year and before then its the Boardman’s Design summer range shooting late September. Look out for the blog on that one …
