Commercial Fashion Photographer …

As a commercial fashion photographer I cover many types of fashion from workwear to high fashion. On location or studio. I’m often asked which I prefer and to be honest I don’t have a preference. I would say however say the studio does require more planning, especially if you want to avoid plain backgrounds. Now I’m not disrespecting the simplistic, that too has its place in fashion photography, but I do like a few props and additions when I’m in the studio. Anyway back to the present blog. This shoot was again for Boardmans Design based in Manchester. Their SS20 collection of hats. The date for the shoot was early September so we were still clinging to British summertime… Just …

The Location …

The location of the shoot was discussed in a meeting a couple of weeks before and I had come up with the Oddfellows Hotel in Chester. My thinking behind this was the very funky rear garden of the hotel, and the main thing being there was also shelter from the dreaded rain … Win Win …

The photo shoot …

Location sorted it was time to photograph the collection. Once again the team of Alison Chesterton Hair and Make Up and John Proctor Fashion Stylist were with me . So I knew my job was at least half done and with the fantastic location and some creative photography ( have to big myself up too 😉 the shots were exactly what I and the client were looking for … Credit also goes to our fab models on the day Michael Oates of Nemesis and Myah of Industry Models Manchester.
