Commercial Fashion Photography …
Commercial fashion photography is more for brochures, catalogues as well as websites. As opposed to editorial fashion which you would see in magazines and as a story. Sometimes it’s good to mix them up a bit. This is exactly what I did with my latest fashion shoot for Boardman’s Design in Manchester. A couple of weeks before myself and Nuala of Boardman’s went location hunting. The idea was for a little bit of a urban run down look with interesting textures. An empty warehouse in Bolton was the final choice. I get all the glamorous locations ;). Joking aside it really was a great location. Suited the style and story of the photoshoot perfectly. Now the only set back was that it was a little chilly. So it was a good job the shoot was for hats, scarves and gloves. I wore any spare product throughout the day 😉 .
Lighting wise wasn’t the brightest inside so the shoot called for studio flash and tripod. I also had to rely on the models to stay as still as they could as I needed a slower shutter. Its not an easy thing to do trust me but I knew the models Sam and Natalie were up to the task.
With quite a number of different looks to get through we had an early start. I needn’t of worried as with a great team made up of fashion stylist Natalie Armin and hair and makeup artist Alsion Chesterton we sailed through. Again I’ll take some of the credit as I always do. After all its only fair it is my blog 😉
