Creative Studio Fashion Photography

Creative Studio Fashion Photography with a touch of Elegance ….

Another season and another shoot for one of my regular and favourite clients Boardmans Design based in Manchester. The fashion shoot was for their Elegance collection of Fascinators and Hats. This time instead of location as we have done in the past the studio was suggested . Now I love studio fashion photography , I can feel a but coming on hear 😉 . But … In my opinion creativity juices really have to flow as there can be a danger of it looking to simple. Especially compared to previous shoots , the client and I didn’t want it to look like we’d taken a step down. Which we hadn’t of course just wanted create a different look .

With that in mind a new fashion stylist was taken on board . John Procter known to me as J P we go back a long way , too far actually so I’m not going to mention it ;).. As I said John and myself had worked together many times back in the day when I was a model , I did say a long time ago .. That is in fact how I got into photography but that maybe is for another blog in the future or maybe not as it’s not really that interesting ;). Anyway I’m jabbering on again …

Nuala and I had our usual meeting before the shoot and I suggested as well as using coloured backgrounds we incorporated various fabrics. We agreed and there was our fashion shoot theme, now just to make it work.

John came to the shoot with a fantastic selection of clothing to compliment the hats we needed to shoot . Honestly, we could have shot on a plain background as they were stunning, so a big thank you to John and fashion designers Forever Unique and Nadine Merabi for the loan of the clothes 🙂 . John’s work didn’t stop there as we both put our heads together for incorporating the fabrics and came up with some great shots. Highly recommend J P to all fashion photographers, a true asset to any shoot …

Now I haven’t forgot my main stay make up artist Alison Chesterton for once again doing amazing hair and make up. Of course not forgetting our Model who I’ve worked with on many occasions Catherine Hudson from Boss. Always makes my job so much easier and a real professional.

So with an amazing team like that I couldn’t go wrong .. Totally thrilled with the images as was the clients Nuala and Alex . By the way a big thank you to Nuala and Alex for the fabric wafting for the blue combination .. I think they wore there arms out a little … 😉

Looking forward to the SS20 fashion shoot this September …
