Fashion and Commercial Photography at The Wedding Shop in Alderley Edge Cheshire

A fashion and commercial photography shoot on location in Alderley Edge Cheshire a favourite of mine in that I always seem to be shooting there. This time the the location was a bridal shop aptly named The Wedding Shop. The client was hat and accessories designer Boardman Bros from Manchester. The project management for the shoot was in the capable hands of Mel McNab as well as the design. The photography obviously left to me and as I have worked with Mel on several fashion shoots a relaxed brief to allow the creativity juices to flow.

With the photography being done on location at the busy Wedding Shop the shoot had to take place on a Sunday as it was the only day it was closed. We may have got in the way of their clients on another day with all the lighting involved it was pretty much a definite this would have been the case. Early start for me then with all the lighting and photographic gear to set up before the shoot could begin. Thankfully having worked with the team on a regular basis I was supplied with coffee at regular intervals, they know me so well.

The brief was lifestyle photography for the new Autumn Winter collection to be used for exhibitions and brochures. Mel’s choice of location for the photography fitted the brief perfectly. I always make it a necessity to view each location for the shoot to pre plan shots and of course for space. It was then up to me to come up with the shots to show off the hats, again with a little help from the team and the excellent model Natasha Beardsmore from Nemesis Model Agency in Manchester. Along with great hair and make up by Clare Brinsmead, the fashion photography shoot flowed from there and within the time set aside we delivered the shots that pleased the client and ‘the boss’ Mel and just as importantly pleased me too.

A bit of photographer self importance there, these creative types hey ….
