Location Commercial Advertising Photography
As the heading says ‘Location Commercial Advertising Photography’ this shoot had it all and more when I was booked for it by Refinery Marketing. The aim of the photo shoot was for content for JCB Tools social media and advertising campaigns.
The location was a quarry in Staffordshire just a few miles away from JCB’s headquarters. Two days Photography was allocated with a third at a later date (all images in this blog) . Now before myself and the Refinery team started the shoot there was a little warning re the quarry location… “The quarry has its own weather front, you never know what you’re going to face “ … Ok then but it was May so how bad could it be ??? …
So armed with my camera and studio location lighting we cracked on with the shoot. Now the words I said earlier “how bad could it be ?” …Well… Firstly sunshine so all was good , however within minutes then torrential rain , quick cover the kit . Then sunshine , all good again, followed by swirling winds , quick hold the kit … This kind of made up the pattern of the day but with a little patience we were getting through the shots even with the stops and starts … But then, in May it started snowing , yes snowing , the quarry I now had to admit definitely had its own weather front. So with the bitter cold (in May) the team and I kept going …just… and no complaints from me … well maybe a little 😉
Pleased to say that despite the adverse weather conditions we got all the shots and so pleased with the end result. Next time I’m bringing my snow boats even if it’s in July …
