Still Life Advertising Photography
My lastest shoot f0r Prestige Uk involved still life advertising photography. Made up of two parts. The first being product photography and the second food photography. Once again shooting with the lovely Nadiya Hussain. Hence the food photography part of course ;). Also working once again with Marketing and Adverting Agency Refinery based in Manchester.
As I said this shoot was both product and food photography . Both an extensive part of my portfolio. The shoot again was on location . Just like the lifestyle shoot mentioned in a previous blog. This time however instead of Milton Keynes the team and I were in West Kirby.
The brief was to shoot various bakeware and cookware products along with the dish. The right balance between food and product. Not too much on either side showing the product and it’s capabilities. In photography this meant a very narrow depth of field to ensure focus through out the image. To capture both food and product. A narrow depth of field means plenty of light and this can either be achieved by a long exposure or studio flash. I went for the latter for two reasons. 1. Sometimes hands holding the products was required. So I needed to avoid blurring occurring . 2. When shooting long exposures the natural light can change dramatically through the day and I wanted consistency. Simples 😉.
Working with Raj Kara on art direction the look really came together. I had a part to play too obviously. But I don’t like to take all the credit . Just most of it . Only joking 😉. It’s always a team effort.
A great couple of days shooting with a fab team . Looking forward to shooting with Prestige and the team again very soon.
