Advertising Still Life Photography …
Carrying on from my previous blog there was another part to the shoot, that being still life advertising photography. In simpler terms ‘styled stills’ for the Manchester Arndale’s Christmas Campaign …
The whole two day shoot this time was at Foundry Film studios in manchester. The team once again was Raj Kara and Luci Salt from Refinery Advertising Agency. This time stills stylist Bethan Ross from Represented By Me joined us.
At first glance the images appear quite simple but believe me they were nothing but. Getting the right balance and look for all the products was tricky and challenging. Enjoyable too , poor Bethan had her work cut out.
Each shot had a different coloured background along with a slightly different angle. The product ranged from food to jewellery, with a number of gadgets thrown in too. Including Apple Mac , Iphone and Xbox. A few of my favs. With this in mind the lighting also had to differ on each shot to allow for reflections and textures etc. So my work was cut out too;)
Creating this style of imagery is a real favourite of mine. Building up to the final shot shot is really satisfying and that’s why we needed the two days. The images reflect the effort the whole team put in. Really pleased with the end result as was the client… That’s the important one 😉 …
