Food and Drink Photographer …
As a food and drink photographer I get to photograph some interesting projects. This particular one was for The Modern Milkman . They wanted to update their lifestyle shots to portray just what they are about. Right up my street then. Always love the creative process that comes with advertising food photography. Don’t get me wrong e-commerce product photography has its place. But creative photography is my passion. From the first idea to the final image . I love it.
The Photoshoot
After several meetings with the clients at The modern Milkman to plan everything, we were ready for the shoot. I say ‘we’ as I got the very talented food stylist and home economist Kate Bottomley on board. I’ve worked with Kate on numerous occasions so I knew the prep and styling was in safe hands. We even used Kate’s home as the location so a big thank you to Kate ๐.
We planned the shoot over 3 days as several of the shots involved full table set ups. This included a breakfast set up, a barbecue set up and finally a party set up. Just these shots alone took just over a day. As Kate had to prepare the food first before we could even begin to style and create the final image. Time is always important with food photography as indeed with any type of photography. There is no such thing as a quick shot as a professional photographer. And as you can see from the final images the time was well spent ๐
The rest of the shoot comprised of individual drink shots and what we called doorstep shots. These again were more time consuming. As the full product ranges were photographed. Take a look at the image below and you’ll get an idea . Not sure if I could fit all that on my doorstep๐
Such a great shoot to be part of . And thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at The Modern Milkman.
Looking forward to the next shoot.
