Location Commercial Photography …

Had a great week shooting on location for Skil Power Tools along with Refinery Marketing from Manchester. The shoot took place at Brogyntyn Hall as it was being renovated and we were kindly given permission to shoot there for the week. So hard hats , high viz and steel toe capped boots was the uniform for the week. Have to say I quite suited the hard hat … Not really. Does anyone 🤔

The Photoshoot …

Anyway back to the shoot . Once again I was shooting along side John owner of Naive Video Production. The plan was to photograph the tools being used in various locations. I had a particular model in the afternoon and John had the other and we then swapped. With two art directors to look after us too. Namely Rak Kara and Em Forster from Refinery Marketing . Not to mention the production team of Abigail Maher, Victoria Heneghan and Emily Broad. Who were on hand to keep us on time. Five minute warnings kept us in check. Much needed with a tight schedule.

Once again I spent most of the time on the floor in every position possible. I’m sure the team at Refinery just love putting me through my paces 😉. But  seriously it was a necessity to get just the right angle of the tools in situ. Another necessity was the location lighting . Helped by my trusted assistant Anna Russel I opted for a two light set up with a clip light to give the impression of back light from the sun. Also a great technique to pick up the flying saw dust as you can see from the shots. A big up for my Bowens XMT 500 ‘s,  just love them . Sorry I’m getting a bit ‘geeky photographer’ now 😉

Loved doing this shoot and so pleased with images as were the clients which is the main thing hey …
