Still Life Food Photography for the Sweet Tooth

Still Life Food Photography

A lot of my still life food photography is on location using natural light. This particular photoshoot was in studio with flash lighting. The secret to food photography in my humble opinion is nice soft lighting, so plenty of reflection and soft boxes was the order of the day. Another ever present in my food photography is texture and colour. This shoot was no exception, I’m building up quite a large collection of slate and timber. The studio is beginning to resemble a builders merchants. Maybe a slight exaggeration 😉 …

I love my job and I especially love shooting food. Building up the shot, adding texture and colour whilst keeping it simple. Not to heavily styled is the way I like to go. That said a food stylist is so important on any food shoot. Its not as simple at it looks you know 😉 . Cutting corners on food photography is not the way to go …

As I mentioned in the title, this was definitely a shoot for the sweet tooth and yes I am one of them. So again there was no need for lunch, as after each shot the product seemed to simply vanish 😉 …
